The History & Planning of LITTLEPORT HARLEY 2003

The trigger to The Littleport Society becoming aware of the link between William Sylvester Harley, joint founder of the HARLEY-DAVIDSON Motor Cycle Factory with the Davidson brothers was a copy of a letter supplied by Kate Harley. Kate is the wife of John Harley, grandson of William Sylvester Harley.

Bruce Frost, a key member of The Littleport Society made this exciting discovery, when in August 1996, Kate HARLEY sent him a copy of a letter written on the 15th April 1893 by Mary FYSON of Victoria Street, Littleport, to her “dear Brother and Sister”.

Organiser Michael Clarke with discoverer Bruce Frost near where William Harley was born, Mike Clarke [L] hands Bruce Frost a book donated by Harley-Davidson.
